Chipola Area Board of REALTORS®

Some of the best things don’t even need to be refered to by their full names. You can just use letters and we all know what you are talking about. Our local real estate board covering the four county area of Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson and Washington has a full name of Chipola Area Board of REALTORS. In writing you will see us just put CABR and when chatting with others in our group we just say ‘the Board’.

RPAC is our REALTOR Polictical Action Committee. Each year we are challenged to raise funds to donate to the State RPAC committee. This year, led by our 2012 RPAC Chairman, Cresh Harrison, CABR made it’s RPAC goal by having a BBQ dinner on May 17! I know you don’t need us to tell you what BBQ stands for!! This was some of the best BBQ chicken you ever tasted, according to the official cook, Robby Roberts.

The success of the event is do too the participation of many people. We definitely want to thank our main sponsors; Florida Commerce CU, First Federal Bank, and Hancock Bank. Wal-Mart donated a GPS and the El Governor Motel donated a Get-A-Way! Both were used as Grand Prize drawings. Many others donated door prizes and still many others just bought BBQ chicken dinners or made direct contributions to RPAC. Thank you all!

Golf tournaments are just too much fun! We had a great turn out this year and plan on doing this again soon. Almost 50 players came out. We had awards and prizes for the top three team scores, a putting contest, and the longest drive! Plus more door prizes were given via ticket drawing. Things went really smooth and it seemed like we must have hosted many tournaments.

There were many people who volunteered their time or donated money to the event.  The premier sponsor was Florida Public Utilities. The two beverage carts were sponsored by Oceanside Title and Community South CU. Century 21 Sunny South Properties was the range sponsor and Indian Springs Real Estate was the putting contest sponsor. Numerous other sponsors had their signs on one or more holes, so that those enjoying the day golfing knew who to thank!
